Vernissage exposition photo « Métamorphoses silencieuses (Infiniment petit) »

Photographer Charlotte Schousboe works around living things, fruit and vegetables, and their slow transformations – sometimes over several months. Through these everyday materials, she explores life cycles, the moments when form dissolves to better reinvent itself.

Each image becomes trace, imprint, organic memory. A portrait – not of a living being, but of a matter that keeps telling a story, even as it seems to fade away. This is a contemporary fine art piece, produced in a limited series of 30 prints.

Each work has a title and a caption, displayed beside the print. Visitors can have fun guessing the original plant, it's not always obvious! The captions are fragments of life, thoughts of the day, what the plant tells me as it transforms.

The prints are made on Hahnemühle William Turner paper, 100% cotton, with a matte, slightly grainy texture, almost fabric-like to the touch, a surface that catches the light and reveals the most subtle details.

It gives the images a soft yet deep presence, almost tactile – as though the material kept breathing through the print. You'll be able to enjoy this exhibition at the Maison du Jardinage et du Compostage until December 2026.
