Overview
The ensemble Les Paladins and Jérôme Correas present ABBA Bach, a concert that weaves unexpected links between baroque music and pop melodies.
Founded in 2001 by Jérôme Correas, the baroque orchestra Les Paladins traditionally explores the Italian and French dramatic repertoire of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. For this project, the ensemble teams up with Amandine Bontemps, Sarah Dupont d'Isigny and Jean-François Lombard to embark on a unique artistic approach.
On stage, the arrangements contrast the polyphonic writing of Johann Sebastian Bach with the melodic structures of the Swedish group ABBA. This cross-cutting interpretation highlights the harmonic resonances between these two seemingly unrelated universes.
This concert is aimed at audiences curious about stylistic crossovers, whether they are regular attendees of classical concert halls or fans of unexpected reinterpretations. The performance is delivered by musicians specialised in historical performance practice.
