Overview
Aquatic concert!
Akutuk is an ancestral technique of bare-handed aquatic percussion, passed down from woman to woman in the forests of Cameroon. Between air, water and body, it traditionally accompanies everyday tasks and celebrates water spirits through songs and polyrhythms.
With Akutuk Origins, three percussionists reactivate this rare know-how in an immersive creation within a swimming pool. Songs, water flutes and body percussion create a surprising sensory experience, where the sounds seem to be born directly from the water.
