BÂTARDS IS THE STORY OF A SHOW THAT FAILED BECAUSE OF A BREAK-UP.

A play by Louise Dupuis

Directed by: Louise Dupuis

Cast: Thomas Gourdy, Lucile Oza, Lise Lomi, Louise Dupuis and Julien Storini

Running time: 1h25

Ages 14 and up

Louise and Julien invite you to witness their separation by retracing the rehearsals of a show that will never take place.

Louise was supposed to write a play inspired by their love story but, instead of the expected straight romantic fable, we witness a joyful, irreverent chaos in which Jean-Luc Mélenchon, a Pyrenean bear, Pocahontas, Shakespeare and a unicorn cross paths.

BÂTARDS IS A ZANY AND POETIC COMEDY THAT NAVIGATES BETWEEN CONTEMPORARY FARCE AND FEMINIST DYSTOPIA.

Support: DRAC Île-de-France, Théâtre Le Hublot

Production: La très neuve compagnie

"A funny, rambling, unpredictable and disorienting adventure"

L'HUMANITÉ

"A half-pop, half-punk show that picks at the wounds of the contemporary heterosexual couple with self-deprecation and tenderness."

PIANO PANIER

"Laughter is a difficult discipline, more difficult than excess. Louise Dupuis is gifted; she masters both."

BLOG JE N'AI QU'UNE VIE

"Louise Dupuis knows what she is doing: precision, sensitivity, handling of space and time, remarkable direction of actors..."

THÉÂTRE DU BLOG

"With a dystopia that imagines a world without fathers, Louise Dupuis offers a very funny, very contemporary and very poetic play. With her fellow actors, she made us laugh, a great deal. She made us think differently. She managed to overturn the table of gender theory."

L'AUTRE SCÈNE.ORG

"The play of illusion between reality and fiction is pursued with radicality, even into fairly trash directions, and brings about very successful moments of comedy."
