Bentley Anderson approaches the electric guitar as a field of energies and vibrations rather than as a classical melodic instrument. He also incorporates unconventional objects, such as saw blades bowed or struck above the pickups of his guitar. Bentley Anderson was an intern, studio assistant and archivist for the band Sonic Youth. This experience greatly influenced his use of modified tunings. He subsequently toured alongside Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo. He works as a sound engineer for the experimental venue Issue Project Room in Brooklyn.
