What drives a person to change their life overnight? Co-founder with Jade Herbulot of the Birgit Ensemble, Julie Bertin writes and directs Bientôt le jour. Conceived from testimonies collected in France and abroad – Austria, Italy, Spain, United States, India and Cameroon – the show intertwines seven destinies and seven languages. All these stories share a common thread: they recount a tearing away from a daily life once thought immutable. Today, contemplating our world often comes with a feeling of bewilderment. It is undoubtedly possible to escape this state of torpor that binds us by envisioning a future that is not already determined, by imagining escapes towards an unknown horizon. The performers thus carry the narrative of everyday utopias that have come true in a dining room in Vienna or an airport in Mumbai, in a forest in Bamanga or a bedroom in Los Angeles. But then, what are the forces that suddenly led these seven individuals to rise up? And what remains of this upheaval?

Between narration and acting, the scenes are nourished by choreographic moments that weave sensitive links between all these fragments of life. This decisive moment when an individual's existence shifts, when a wavering body stands tall, is the beating heart of a show that seeks to discover where our capacity to transform our world resides.
