Overview
Bonbon Vodou is Oriane Lacaille, from a large family of Réunionese musicians, and JereM Boucris, son of Lacanian psychiatrists.
A sweet-and-sour confection, two voices that blend together like a dream, making the ears' taste buds water with the pulsing beat of its spicy rhythm section.
On her one-of-a-kind, makeshift mini drum kit, Oriane gets bodies shaking; with his guitar made from an oil drum, JereM sets spirits waltzing to his catchy melodies. With the Piment Piment line-up, the full creole spirit of Bonbon Vodou comes to the fore.
Joined by Roland Seilhès on saxophone, flute and vocals; Yann-Lou Bertrand on bass, trumpet, flute and vocals; and Juliette Minvielle on percussion, keyboards and vocals, Bonbon Vodou Piment Piment explores even more deeply maloya and the mosaic of swaying, earthy rhythms of the ‘originaires’ music gathered from the four corners of the globe.
An anthem to mixing cultures, sung in Réunionese creole and French. Bathed in the softness of clear voices and carried by a devastating groove, Bonbon Vodou Piment Piment spreads joy and sends out its wave of trance…
