Overview
Since forming in 2014, Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller have built a following among the most devoted fans of the underground scene under the name Boy Harsher.
Their debut EP, *Lesser Man* — which contains the cult track "Pain" — was initially released in a limited cassette edition before being uploaded to YouTube by a fan.
They carried on with the album *Yr Body is Nothing* (2016) and the EP *Country Girl* (2017), paving the way for the critically acclaimed album *Careful* (2019), as well as the project *The Runner* (2022) — both an album and a film — for which the duo handled the writing, production and original soundtrack.
Boy Harsher has continued to explore new horizons on the fringes of darkwave, industrial music and electro.
Their distinctive blend of hypnotic synthesisers, punchy rhythms and Jae Matthews's magnetic voice has influenced a new generation of artists, while helping to propel minimal synth, EBM and the dark electronic music of underground clubs onto festival stages around the world.
