Overview
Charpentier, in partnership with the Orchestre Symphonique En résonance, will perform two works from the Italian and British repertoires devoted to the Virgin Mary: Rossini's Stabat Mater, which blends the expressive style of Italian opera with a religious, meditative atmosphere alternating power and gentleness, and John Rutter's Magnificat, composed in 1990, a large-scale work for choir, soprano soloist and orchestra.
It is not often that one has the pleasure of hearing a work of contemporary sacred music. A unique concert, then!
