Led by choreographers Alvaro Restrepo and Marie-France Delieuvin, the Cuerpo de Indias company is recognised as one of the emblematic groups of Latin American Contemporary Dance. Its creations have been presented throughout South America, North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The artistic vision of the directors, combined with the richness of the dancers' backgrounds and their ethnic and socio-economic diversity, has created an identity for Colombian contemporary dance and a unique methodology for Le Collège du Corps, which projects a positive image of the country abroad. The company's dancers received their training and experience within this structure, according to its artistic and humanist concepts.

Le Collège du Corps is a non-profit artistic and educational association that has been training international-level artists and citizens of peace for 29 years, some of whom now join the Cuerpo de Indias company. This organisation offers education for dance and with dance, using Art and the pursuit of excellence to transform individuals and communities. The practice of contemporary dance, the essence of El Colegio del Cuerpo's language, shapes not only artists but also human beings who, in turn, constitute the great social sculpture, for a more just society.
