Concerto pour une Nuit de Noël de Corelli / Ave Maria de Caccini

Concerto grosso in G minor, Op. 6 No. 8 by Arcangelo Corelli, better known as the Christmas Concerto, was commissioned by Cardinal Pietro Ottoboni and published posthumously in 1714. The concerto bears the inscription Fatto per la note de Natale (made for Christmas Night). It is scored for two concertino violins and cello, ripieno strings and continuo.

The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi is a set of four violin concertos, composed in 1723. It is arguably the best-known composition by Vivaldi and the most performed musical work in the world. Each one is a violin concerto in which a solo violin is accompanied by a chamber orchestra. The content of each concerto is varied and evokes the season to which it relates. For example, winter is punctuated by pizzicato notes on the high strings, suggesting icy rain, whereas summer evokes a storm in the final movement, prepared by thunder rumbling several times within the movement.

Dynamic and eclectic, the Hélios orchestra has made its mark since its creation in 2014. Its artistic director, Paul Savalle, promotes the professional integration of young musicians through orchestral practice. Thus, young graduates mix with orchestral musicians, conductors and experienced soloists, under optimal working conditions. From baroque to contemporary music, the programmes are varied; the repertoire is both symphonic and choral, the orchestra joining departmental and regional choirs. Through collaboration with different conductors, the musicians tackle a very rich repertoire, broadening their interpretative palette. They all come from the leading French conservatoires, some belonging to a national orchestra.
