Daoud

An enfant terrible who rejects the codes of jazz, Daoud creates music driven by a feeling of inadequacy, which challenges frameworks without seeking to please and touches curious novices as much as purists.

The whole is permeated by a single tension: between playfulness and gravity, chaos and gentleness, irony and sincerity.

With ok, his new album released on ACT in 2025, he signs a personal manifesto tinged with fall and repetition – but also with the self-denial required to start over again.

All around the music, the artist constructs a raw visual universe, marked as much by provocation as by youthful letting go, a return to childhood not to reassure himself, but to unearth contradictions.

Fragility, impermanence, satire – the aesthetic embraces flaws rather than hiding them. On stage, Daoud and his band play with the rules, oscillating between contained lyricism and deflagration.

They have a string of sold-out concerts and notable appearances, from Ronnie Scott's in London to the Montreux Jazz Festival, via the North Sea Jazz Festival.

In parallel, Daoud composes and produces for others, never letting go of the thread of an increasingly free and uncompromising personal approach.
