Daoud

A self-styled enfant terrible who rejects the codes of jazz, Daoud creates a music driven by a sense of not quite fitting in, one that unsettles established frameworks without seeking to please and wins over curious newcomers and purists alike.

Running through the whole is a single tension: between play and gravity, chaos and tenderness, irony and sincerity.

With ok, his new album released on ACT in 2025, he delivers a personal manifesto coloured by falling and repetition, but also by the perseverance it takes to begin again.

Around the music, the artist builds a raw visual world, marked as much by provocation as by a youthful abandon, a return to childhood not to reassure himself but to unearth contradictions. Fragility, impermanence, satire: the aesthetic embraces the flaw rather than concealing it.

On stage, Daoud and his group play with the rules, moving between restrained lyricism and explosion. They chain together sold-out concerts and notable appearances, from Ronnie Scott's in London to the Montreux Jazz Festival, including the North Sea Jazz Festival.

In parallel, Daoud composes and produces for others, never losing the thread of a personal approach that is growing ever freer and more uncompromising.
