DJ KRUSH + Guest

A troubled teenager in 1980s Tokyo, DJ Krush found his calling after stumbling upon the film Wild Style. It was an instant shock: he threw himself headlong into hip-hop culture.

Initially active alongside breakdance crews, he founded Krush Posse in 1987 before launching his solo career in 1992, quickly drawing attention as the first DJ to use turntables as a live instrument.

Influenced by artists such as Miles Davis and James Brown, he developed a style blending hip-hop, jazz and soul.

Following KRUSH, his debut album released in 1994, he joined the label Mo'Wax Strictly Turntablized and gradually established himself as a major figure in experimental hip-hop.

Numerous collaborations, collective projects and soundtracks have since marked a career defined by constant sonic exploration, right up to recent albums such as Butterfly Effect (2015).

In 2024, his album -Saisei- marked a new chapter, his first independent release four years after Trickster. Its meanings are manifold: to play music, to reconstruct so as to bring something back to life, to bring art back to life.

Always in search of a new sound that goes beyond boundaries. The artist will present his new album, due out in summer 2026, at club Transbo!!!
