Drop Six is a sextet with original arrangements inspired by the American jazz repertoire of the 1930s to 1950s.
The group carries on the tradition of festive, joyful jazz while drawing on major figures such as Fats Waller, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald or Sidney Bechet.
Thanks to the timbre of its three horns and the swing of its rhythm section, the band recreates the warm, energetic effect of a large orchestra… the Big Band effect!
Their musical world also draws on a wide range of influences, from New Orleans and bebop to gypsy jazz, blues and bossa nova.
