Since 2018, GA-20 has been at the forefront of the revival of traditional blues. This dynamic trio, looking to the past, has long claimed the crossroads where traditional blues, country and rock 'n' roll meet.

« We make records we would like to listen to ourselves », explains guitarist Matt Stubbs. « It's our own vision of this traditional electric blues, focused on the song, that we adore. »

Stubbs, joined by guitarist and singer Cody Nilsen and drummer Josh Kiggans, works to push traditional blues to the forefront of the modern roots music scene. « Our priority has always been the story, the melody and creating an atmosphere », continues Stubbs. « Traditional country and soul have enjoyed an immense resurgence in popularity recently. We want to do the same for traditional blues. »

To shape their « old-school » sound, the members of GA-20 draw inspiration from the music of artists they cherish, such as Otis Rush, J.B. Lenoir, Howlin' Wolf, Junior Wells, Hound Dog Taylor, Earl Hooker, Johnny « Guitar » Watson and many more.

Playing with boundless energy and wild spontaneity, GA-20 brings timeless immediacy to every track while developing a constantly evolving sound. The band uses period instruments and amplifiers to achieve its sonic authenticity, and favours traditional recording techniques, such as playing all together live in the same room, to recreate that energy and the unique musical connection.

In a short time, GA-20 has reached number one on Billboard's Blues chart three times and has won the « Best Blues Band » award at the Boston Music Awards four times.
