Overview
Legendary outfit Fat Freddy's Drop return to the stage in 2026 for an exceptional world tour celebrating their cult album Based On A True Story.
More than twenty years after its release, this seminal record continues to inspire generations of fans with its unique blend of reggae, soul, dub, funk and electronic groove.
The band will play 5 dates in France this autumn: 28 September at the Bikini in Toulouse, 6 October at the Radiant in Lyon, 7 October at the Rocher de Palmer in Bordeaux, 9 October at the Zénith in Nantes and 10 October at Zénith Paris - La Villette.
This tour marks a poignant moment for the band, their first shows since the passing of Chris 'MU' Faiumu, a founding member and pillar of their sound.
Together, the musicians have chosen to continue this journey in tribute to their stage brother and the music they created with him.
' Released in 2005, Based On A True Story became a genuine phenomenon: an independent album that became the longest-charting record in the New Zealand Top 40, winning eight New Zealand Music Awards and Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Music Award in the United Kingdom.
This masterpiece was the springboard for an international career built on legendary concerts and an unbreakable bond with audiences. In 2026, Fat Freddy's Drop hit the road again to share their inimitable sound — a spellbinding blend of groove, energy and pure emotion.
Get ready for a rare experience: a vibrant, powerful and deeply human musical journey.
