Fête du piano

With a lovingly chosen repertoire, three young pianists of talent from the Fondation Alexandre Tharaud join the French musician and Vanessa Wagner for a joyful celebration of the instrument.

It was in memory of his difficult early years as a musician, marked by a shortage of concerts and outside support, that Alexandre Tharaud set out to create his foundation. As he points out, "being a soloist demands everything: the body, the mind, and a solid circle around you." His aim? To support young musicians, both artistically and personally, through concrete assistance. Three gifted artists from his foundation will thus join two seasoned soloists, Vanessa Wagner and Alexandre Tharaud himself, for a grand celebration of the piano. The premiere of Oscar Strasnoy's Twenty-Four Preludes, which follows in the footsteps of Chopin and Scriabin, is mingled with famous pieces and works to be rediscovered by Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Rossini and Saint-Saëns.
