Frères

Sugar and coffee to talk about the Spanish Civil War and the Retirada, the kitchen as a playground, everyday objects as protagonists, and the dining table becoming the battlefield.

Frères is the story of an antifascist Spanish grandfather, told by his grandsons through their memories, a story that was told to them and that they now want to pass on in turn, so that it is not forgotten.

Points of view, ideologies and memory mingle in the black coffee of family recollections. Coffee is loved with or without sugar, and Frères is the bitter story of those who keep the taste of youth and of utopias.
