Fusées

A show presented as part of the Festival Op' en famille, in partnership with Mixt (from 6 years old)

Fusées draws on humans who, obsessed with their passion, want at all costs to possess the universe... In Jeanne Candel's musical theatre, two men drift through the cosmos: one surrenders to melancholy, the other savours his power. From this contrast a comic duo is born.

Between them, a woman moves about as a go-between of voices: scientists, children fascinated by space, the spaceship's computer. Conceived as a burlesque and poetic fable, Fusées tells of our obsession with going into space.

No screens or technology: the show prefers the handmade tricks of theatre, a few props, the actors' bodies and a "box of poetry". The music plays in weightlessness: an upside-down piano, popular songs, classical and melancholy airs compose a strange "ghost music".

The director and her team remind us, with humour and tenderness, that theatre remains that precious place where poetry exists and keeps intact its power of evocation, in the face of our sometimes fatal attraction to the extremely far away.
