Grand Corps Malade

Grand Corps Malade presents his slam-poet universe on the stage of the Zénith de Nantes Métropole.

Grand Corps Malade has been a fixture of the French music scene since the release of his debut album Midi 20 in 2006. Originally from Le Blanc-Mesnil and active since the late 1990s, the artist has developed a body of work centred on urban poetry, the rhythm of words, and the art of slam. His lyrics, delivered in a recognisable deep voice, tackle social and intimate themes with consistent writing rigor, drawing over the years on various collaborations and arrangements on the borders of pop and chanson.

On stage, Grand Corps Malade delivers a concert structured around showcasing the lyrics, surrounded by musicians who dress the compositions in acoustic and electronic melodies. The overall setup prioritises listening and attention to arrangements, in a configuration suited to large concert venues.

This evening is aimed at fans of French chanson and finely crafted lyrics, eager to hear the artist's repertoire in the conditions of a large performance hall. The audience will find the usual atmosphere of his tour performances, oscillating between moments of attentive silence and shared sing-alongs of major tracks from his discography.
