Grand Corps Malade

Grand Corps Malade, emblematic figure of French slam poetry, returns to Paris for a highly anticipated series of concerts. Catch his urban poetry and finely crafted lyrics on the stage of the Adidas Arena.

Fabien Marsaud, better known as Grand Corps Malade, has established himself as a major artist on the French scene since the mid-2000s. Originally from Saint-Denis, he has popularised slam poetry—this form of oral poetic expression—giving it unprecedented visibility with the general public. His journey, marked by an accident that forced him to use a cane, has profoundly influenced his writing, giving it a depth and authenticity that touches a wide audience. His deep voice and unique phrasing have become his signature, recognisable above all others.

His debut album, "Midi 20", released in 2006, was a true phenomenon, winning two Victoires de la Musique awards. Tracks like "Saint-Denis" or "Sixième Sens" left a lasting impression, revealing a writing talent capable of juggling the intimate and the social, humour and melancholy. Over the course of his albums, from "Enfant de la ville" to "Reflets", via "Funambule" or "Plan B", Grand Corps Malade has continued to explore new sounds, sometimes incorporating elements of pop, rock or French chanson, while retaining the essence of his art. His collaborations with other artists, notably on the album "Mesdames", have also demonstrated his ability to build bridges between genres and generations.

On stage, Grand Corps Malade offers a unique experience, where vocal performance and the power of words take on their full dimension. Far from artifice, he favours a direct connection with his audience, transforming each concert into a moment of sharing and emotion. His lyrics, often introspective yet always universal, resonate with disarming sincerity, inviting reflection. Grand Corps Malade's appearance at the Adidas Arena is a privileged opportunity to discover or rediscover the work of an artist whose impact on French song and contemporary poetry is undeniable. It is the promise of an evening where the strength of words will blend with the warm atmosphere of a live concert, in one of Paris's newest venues.

Beyond his musical career, Grand Corps Malade has also made a name for himself in cinema, notably by directing "Patients" (2017) and "La Vie scolaire"
