Gros Monsieur

Gros Monsieur builds a bridge between cultures: a radiant artist who reconciles the poetry of French chanson with the irresistible groove of afro-pop.

Born in France, of Berber origin, and growing up between working-class estates and affluent neighbourhoods, Gros Monsieur often felt both different and like everyone else. It was nourished by this multifaceted culture that he became a self-taught author, composer, and performer.

He then toured over 400 stages in France and internationally with his first band, Wailing Trees, growing his love for live performance and people with every concert. He then created Gros Monsieur, a project closer to himself, to be closer to them.

Musically, Gros Monsieur aims to bring people together, harmoniously mastering the combination of poetic lyrics with world groove. A true musical diplomat, he transforms our doubts into a collective celebration, honouring the extraordinary that lies dormant within each of us.
