Insula Camerata

To close the season, Laurence Equilbey conducts Insula camerata: the orchestra academy Insula orchestra founded in 2025 to transmit to a new generation of young musicians—32 instrumentalists from 12 nationalities, ages 18-30—the practice of historically informed performance on period instruments.

On the road to Paris, the ensemble follows Mozart's footsteps. First stop in Mannheim, where the composer writes his Flute Concerto No. 1: a virtuoso and refined page entrusted to Anna Besson, whose diaphanous timbre and sovereign line deploy all its grace.

Then comes arrival in the capital. Mozart there composes Parisian Overture No. 2 and Symphony No. 31 "Paris," conceived to seduce through its scale and brilliance.

The Ballet Preljocaj Junior's interventions accompany this itinerary, extending the orchestra's energy through movement.
