Overview
Meet one of the major players in contemporary soul!
Jalen Ngonda musically combines the legacy of great soul figures while infusing it with new energy.
A self-taught singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he draws inspiration from the sounds of the 50s and 60s, feeding on the vibrations dear to the soul family, those of Marvin Gaye, James Brown or Al Green.
It was quite naturally the New York label Daptone Records (Charles Bradley, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Thee Sacred Soul…) that he joined in 2022.
