In constant renewal, the London scene is again in the spotlight under La Villette's Grande Halle, with a discovery—saxophonist Venna and his supple mixes—and a confirmation: the Kokoroko collective, at the top of the groove.
With great ease, Kokoroko proves there's life after a hit as popular as 'Abusey Junction', a sweet groove that had revealed the band in 2019. Since then, the London octet has built a solid live reputation, with warm concerts that notably marked two editions of Jazz à la Villette.
Its discography is equally strong, with Could We Be More (2022)—a brassy marvel perfectly balanced between afrobeat energy and the sweetness of soul-tinged jazz—and Tuff Times Never Last (2025).
On this second album, the band gambles on radiant optimism and tighter, more structured writing, with a groove always inspired by afro-jazz rhythms and songs rich in interwoven vocals and brass.
Released in March 2026, the live EP From Metropolis Studios perfectly captures the band's radiant energy on stage.
