Overview
TWO GENIUSES, ONE CHESSBOARD, A DELIGHTFUL GAME When Rousseau publishes his Confessions, in which he attacks his former philosopher friends, Diderot takes fright. The rift between the two former friends becomes, over the course of a game of chess, a confrontation as brilliant as it is delightful. Between one's private world and the other's ambition, their visions clash with panache. Driven by lively, ironic and savoury exchanges, the play blends laughter and ideas in a duel as biting as it is profoundly human, at the heart of the Enlightenment. May the best man win!
A learned comedy, reasonably mad. Blending political reflection and contemporary satire.
