La Raison du Plus Fou

Rousseau has just finished his "Confessions". In it, he settles scores with his friend Diderot and comes to give public readings in Paris, which will prompt the religious authorities to ban Diderot's work, "L'encyclopédie", an impious book for the Church. Diderot then challenges his former friend to a chess duel where the fate of one will determine that of the other. A burlesque and insane game ensues, where all tricks are allowed to destabilise the opponent.

You then become the complicit witnesses of this exchange, which is at once satirical and profound, classic and wild. But beware, appearances can sometimes be very deceiving…
