Overview
Plural, free, alive. Singing in Arabic, his mother tongue, as well as in French and Spanish, Nedjim Bouizzoul, the founder and singer of the band LABESS, demonstrates on stage the power of travel, of crossings and of cultural mixing.
Founded in 2004 in Quebec, Labess claims a new genre: gipsy-chaâbi. A unique blend of rumba and flamenco sounds with the chaâbi music originating from Algiers. LABESS, which means "Everything is fine" in Arabic, has released 5 albums.
Through their songs, they touch on light or more serious subjects, speaking of solidarity as well as exile, of peace and of friendship. An ode to living together, a celebration of diversity.
