Le Malade Imaginaire

Comedy following Argan, convinced he is ill, caught between doctors, remedies and plans to marry off his daughter, presented at the Toboggan in Décines-Charpieu.

Le Malade Imaginaire is a comedy centred on Argan, who is convinced he suffers from a host of ailments and is surrounded by doctors, apothecaries and remedies. His obsession with illness weighs on his family, as he intends to marry his daughter to a doctor according to a calculation that serves his own interests. The tone swings between satire of medical practices and the comedy of character.

On stage, the play relies on the actors' performances and on the misunderstandings that follow one another between the characters, through lively and often funny scenes. The show is presented at the Toboggan, a venue in Décines-Charpieu dedicated to concerts and shows, which is hosting this theatre performance.
