Man of Moon

MAN OF MOON (10pm) (Alt rock - Cosmic Pool - Glasgow, UK) Man of Moon is a Scottish duo that forges a bold sound at the crossroads of psychedelic rock, krautrock, electronics and post-punk textures.

Founded in Edinburgh in 2014 at Jewel and Esk College, the project was born from nocturnal jam sessions between Chris Bainbridge (guitar/vocals) and his drummer at the time, before quickly taking on another dimension.

Chris said the name came to him in memory of his father: they had had many conversations about space and the moon, and this imagery continues to resonate in the themes of their lyrics and the atmosphere of their music.

Over the years, the duo settled in Glasgow and welcomed a new drummer, Iain Stewart, while continuing to deepen its sonic palette to venture into ethereal and hypnotic territory. Since its inception, Man of Moon has established itself as an extraordinary live band.

The duo possesses an extraordinary talent for crossing genres and styles, but their sound is not hybrid: it is rather a synthesis of their influences, a pure sonic distillation of what came before.

You hear the hypnotic drones of Mogwai, the dynamic shifts of Radiohead, the harmonic angularity of Tool, the industrial amalgam of Nine Inch Nails, even touches of the austere and abstract lyricism of Pink Floyd. Man of Moon is so much music in one band.
