For more than twenty years, Médine has told the story of the world through its fractures. With Enfants du destin, he returns to one of the most striking series in his body of work: tales of children caught up in the turmoil of History. Born with his first album in 2004, these tracks recount destinies shattered by the great upheavals of the world: colonisation, war, slavery, oppression. But behind the events there is always a face, a first name, an interrupted childhood. David, Souhan, Kunta Kinte, Nour or Yasser... Whether real or fictional, the Enfants du destin become the bearers of a collective memory. Through them a historical fresco takes shape, in which the violence of yesterday seems to speak to that of today.

In this new stage form, Médine revisits these stories in an acoustic and intimate setting. For 1h30, carried by the piano and guitar of Guillaume Zolnierowsky, as well as by the voice and cello of Shéhérazade, he unfolds these stories like a modern storyteller. On stage, Karinale Lo van Zaouiche intervenes here and there, opening breaches in the narrative. In these dialogued interludes, speech circulates, questions, doubts. History ceases to be a simple account of the past and becomes a questioning of the present.

Halfway between concert and theatre, Enfants du destin invents a hybrid territory. A suspended place. A buffer zone where one comes to catch one's breath, tend to memories and question the cyclical brutality of the world.
