Megadeth - Hibernation of the Nations

Megadeth will return to France in 2027 for two exceptional concerts with Black Label Society and Testament. In January 2026, Dave Mustaine announced that Megadeth, the band's 17th self-titled album, formed in 1983, would be the last.

The “countdown to extinction” had begun: Megadeth was then embarking on a long farewell tour. A leading figure of thrash and a member of the legendary Big 4, Megadeth has sold more than 50 million albums and converted millions of fans around the world.

Peace Sells… But Who's Buying? (8? placing in Rolling Stone's “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time” list), Rust In Peace and Countdown To Extinction have become classics of the genre.

With Dystopia (2017), Megadeth won a Grammy Award in the “Best Metal Performance” category, before making a sensational debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with its latest album, Megadeth.

For 20 years, Megadeth has been a fixture on the Hellfest line-up (it even played two weeks in a row across the two editions of 2022). You can also relive its latest concert in replay on Arte.

Next stops: on 21 March at the Zénith Paris – La Villette, where the band will finally return as headliner (after a sold-out Olympia in 2023), and on 8 April at the Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon, where Dave Mustaine had not performed since 2018.

It will be an opportunity for fans to sing along together and, most likely for the last time, the famous À tout le monde, à tous mes amis… Testament, another thrash pioneer (already on the bill with Megadeth on the 1990 Clash of the Titans tour), will open the proceedings, before Black Label Society, the band led by Zakk Wylde, longtime guitarist of Ozzy Osbourne.
