Melissa Laveaux

Melissa Laveaux presents her universe blending folk rock and Haitian influences on stage.

French-Canadian singer-songwriter Melissa Laveaux first came to prominence with a style blending folk, indie rock, and Haitian traditions. Born in Montreal in 1985 to parents originally from Haiti, the artist has developed a distinctive musical identity marked by her expressive voice and mastery of both acoustic and electric guitar. Her discography notably includes the release of the album Camphor & Copper in 2008, which laid the foundations for songwriting rooted in her heritage and nourished by international collaborations.

On stage, Melissa Laveaux delivers a dynamic set, driven by a tight-knit lineup where guitar and percussion take center stage. Her performance favors raw intensity and a dialogue with the audience, far removed from sanitized studio productions. This tour is aimed at indie music fans curious to discover the bridges between North American folk and Caribbean rhythms.
