MY SON THE DOCTOR (10pm) (Slacker rock - New York, US) Halfway between the slacker rock of the 90s and the catchy pop-punk of the 2000s, *Glamours*, the debut album of Brooklyn quartet My Son The Doctor, perfectly embodies the often offbeat, sometimes irreverent and always catchy sound of a band at the forefront of the indie rock scene of the five boroughs.

Their music is marked by the arty punk rock of the 70s and early new wave (Jonathan Richman, B 52's, Television, The Fall, Gang of Four), and by some essential French singers (Daniel Darc, Dashiell Hedayat, Les Olivensteins).

They sing in a spoken-sung style, with strange lyrics full of bad humour. They have released several records, notably their latest LP, "Soleil Orange" (LVP Records), which received excellent critical acclaim.

For several years they have toured northeast Paris, sometimes the whole country, giving fiery concerts that reconcile old rockers and modern youth.

So we're in lo fi rock, elegant and refined that doesn't hide its emotions always close to the surface. And even if the guitars saturate the space, it's always with a certain casualness to better let a voice slip through that's all subtlety and restraint.
