Nerves + Caprices

Nerves is a noise rock / post-punk band from the west of Ireland, now based in Dublin. After forging a reputation as one of the most deafening and brutal noise acts on the Irish scene, Nerves returned in 2025 with its second EP, Iarmhaireacht, which was acclaimed by critics. The project blends aggression and beauty to build a poignant narrative and a sonic progression that highlight the richness of their musical universe and their distinctive artistic vision. The tour for this EP allowed them to sell out their home city, earn significant airplay on BBC 6 Music, and head out on tour across the UK and Europe alongside bands such as Gurriers, Maruja and The Jesus Lizard. They also played several festivals in Europe and Ireland. Ready to kick off 2026 with a thunderous statement, Nerves went back into the studio with Daniel Fox (Gilla Band) to record a series of singles that will be released throughout the year. The first of these, N26, is a three-minute incendiary blast of furious noise rock with techno influences, drawing as much on producers such as JK Flesh and Filmmaker as on bands such as Fugazi and My Bloody Valentine. Lyrically, the track is a lament for the decline of small rural Irish towns, caused by the lack of prospects and meaning for younger generations. This theme already ran through the EP Iarmhaireacht, but here it is addressed in a far more direct way.
