Eliz Corbett has two loves — Jazz and Paris.
Since she caught the jazz virus during college years near New York where she frequented Kenny Barron's students Eliz is completely hooked. But it's in Paris her adopted city where she learns to truly sing and improvise on famous jazz 'grilles'.
For the American she is jazz 'standards' are timeless story songs written by Broadway age virtuosos. Therefore she offers them to audiences with as much respect for original composition & lyrics poetry as freedom for personal expression.
Aided by a warm voice timbre and generous stage presence Eliz and her orchestra propose a joyful and comforting humanity bubble.
Eliz & her New York Swing took the opportunity to invite a prestigious soloist: trumpeter and composer Jean Gobinet with whom Eliz sang in large formation. Seasoned musicians Vinh Lê on piano and Michel Rosciglione on double bass form a rhythm section as powerful as it is fused.
