PENELOPE ISLES (10pm) (Psych pop - Brighton, UK). Originating from the Isle of Man, after a detour through Brighton's uncomfortable pebbles, Penelope Isles resurfaces, oscillating between dazzling light and dark zones. Three years after their last concert, life has slowly transformed everything. Two solo albums emerged, new bands formed, old reference points collapsed, yet an irresistible pull of attraction finally drew them back toward each other. Yet Penelope Isles' sound remains immediately recognizable: saturated with fuzz, rich in melodies and charged with emotion. Now a genuine trio with the arrival of drummer Joe Taylor, Penelope Isles sounds more expansive, more free and more alive than ever. Guitars shimmer and clash, harmonies oscillate between pain and momentum, while drums explode like a strange storm arriving brutally from the coast. The sibling Wolters compose songs like postcards from an almost inaccessible place, seafront apartments in Brighton, ramshackle restaurants, half-burned memories from the sun. Something beautiful, fragile, always on the verge of disappearing. Forever fascinated by love, grief and the traces they leave behind, Penelope Isles now appears more open, brighter and more unstable than ever.
