Duran Duran

Duran Duran has always known how to stand out in the shadows, playing with artistic, aesthetic and emotional extremes. Even if one may be carried away by the timeless choruses of "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Ordinary World" or "Rio", it is under the cover of night that it all seems most natural. This is the ideal soundtrack for sharing secrets in hushed voices on the dance floor before the lights come up.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® in 2022, they have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, in addition to scoring 18 hits on the American charts and 21 singles in the British Top 20. Among their many awards and honours are eight lifetime achievement prizes, two GRAMMYs®, two Ivor Novello Awards, two BRIT Awards (including the "Outstanding Contribution to Music" award in 2004) and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

They wrote the only James Bond theme to reach number one in the United States, while David Lynch directed one of their most successful concert films. Their music has been sampled in songs by artists ranging from Notorious B.I.G. to 5 Seconds of Summer, as well as in respectful covers by Muse, Deftones and many others.

Rio appears in Q's "100 Greatest British Albums", in the NME's "100 Greatest Albums of All Time" and in Pitchfork's "Top 100 Albums of the 1980s". To sum up their lasting influence, Vanity Fair declared: "Duran Duran has always been synonymous with constant innovation and 'newness'". Thanks to their flair and their sense of fashion, rock has never been the same since they appeared. Their influence as style icons has been widely documented by WWD, Vogue and many others.
