Peter Sandberg

Swedish composer Peter Sandberg, a rising figure on the neo-classical scene, is paying us the honour of his presence at Les Trois Baudets. A rare opportunity to discover the delicacy of his compositions live.

Peter Sandberg, a composer and producer originally from Stockholm, has established himself as a distinctive voice in contemporary neo-classical music. Active since the mid-2010s, he quickly stood out for a melodic and stripped-back approach, often characterised by the use of piano, delicate strings and subtle electronic textures. His body of work, which includes several albums and EPs, among them titles such as 'Motion' and 'Deep' that left a strong impression, explores introspective and contemplative soundscapes, inviting attentive and emotional listening.

His style sits at the crossroads of classical minimalism and modern ambient music, at times recalling the work of Nils Frahm or Ólafur Arnalds, while retaining a identity of its own. Peter Sandberg excels at creating enveloping atmospheres in which every note seems to have its rightful place. His compositions, often instrumental, are designed to evoke feelings of calm, gentle melancholy or hope, without ever tipping into excess or artifice.

Peter Sandberg's reputation on stage rests on his ability to recreate the intimacy and depth of his recordings live. His concerts are often described as immersive experiences, in which the pianist's understated virtuosity blends with a sober yet effective staging that highlights the intrinsic beauty of his music. Expect a moment of pure sonic escape, conducive to daydreaming and contemplation, within the hushed setting of Les Trois Baudets.
