Norwegian saxophonist Petter Wettre, two-time winner of Norwegian Grammy Awards (Spellemannsprisen), launches an ambitious new project: Petter Wettre Scandinavian Unit. This formation brings together three exceptional musicians from the contemporary Nordic scene.
On guitar, Norwegian Bjørn Vidar Solli, recognized figure for his lyrical playing and modern virtuosity.
The rhythm section is assured by two Swedes based in Paris: Viktor Nyberg on upright bass, engine of a supple and deep pulse, and Rasmus Blixt on drums, whose inventive energy propels the ensemble into new sonic territories.
With this quartet, Wettre explores a resolutely European aesthetic, blending Scandinavian intensity, improvisation and a melodic elegance that is his own. Scandinavian Unit thus marks a new stage in the journey of a musician who continues to redefine Nordic jazz.
