Norwegian saxophonist Petter Wettre, a two-time Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannprisen) winner, is launching an ambitious new project: Petter Wettre Scandinavian Unit. This ensemble brings together three exceptional musicians from the contemporary Nordic scene. On guitar is Norwegian Bjørn Vidar Solli, a figure renowned for his lyrical playing and modern virtuosity. The rhythm section is driven by two Paris-based Swedes: Viktor Nyberg on double bass, the engine behind a supple and deep pulse, and Rasmus Blixt on drums, whose inventive energy propels the ensemble into new sonic territories. With this quartet, Wettre explores a resolutely European aesthetic, blending Scandinavian intensity, improvisation, and a melodic elegance all his own. Scandinavian Unit thus marks a new milestone in the journey of a musician who continues to redefine Nordic jazz.
