With FARANGI and Friends, Renaud Garcia-Fons and Claire Antonini extend and enrich the musical adventure begun with FARANGI. Where the first album, conceived as a duo, sketched an intimate dialogue between Oriental sonorities and Baroque resonances, this new record blossoms into a broader conversation, open to new colours and to unprecedented artistic encounters. Claire Antonini now combines the Iranian tār with her theorbo, while Renaud Garcia-Fons deploys on the double bass a range of playing that explores timbres and techniques transcending musical boundaries. Together, these foundational instruments create a subtle balance between tradition and modernity. Around them, exceptional musicians will bring their own worlds to accompany the two artists on stage.
