Presented by Espace culturel musique & danse PLATES-V-R-2021-000466/000468-2020-012591RIO77 is a musical ensemble from Seine-et-Marne bringing together eight Brazilian and European musicians united by a shared passion for Brazilian music.
Led by singer Paula Mirhan, the group develops a project to create and promote Música Popular Brasileira, revisiting the great repertoires of the 70s through original arrangements.
Blending samba, funk, jazz, and popular Brazilian music, RIO77 offers a rich and colourful sound, both accessible and demanding, celebrating the dialogue of cultures and the fusion of aesthetics.
On stage, the collective energy, the generosity of the performers, and the quality of the arrangements offer the audience a warm and unifying musical experience.
The group notably includes among its musicians Matthieu Huteau (saxophone, flute), a professor at the Conservatoire du Blanc-Mesnil and an instructor at the Chevalier-de-Saint-Georges school.
