Robert Gromotka

The pianist and composer Robert Gromotka presents his compositions at this stop at the Café de la Danse, combining solo piano pieces with a dialogue with a cello.

The Berlin-based artist develops a musical approach blending contemporary minimalism, classical elements, improvisation and folk traditions. Initially trained as a flautist in Dortmund, then spent time in Granada, Robert Gromotka has worked with various ensembles, from classical orchestras to contemporary music groups, before turning to compositions for piano. His works Dreamland and Little Life enabled him to gather an international audience receptive to his melodies and their delicate textures. On stage, the instrumentalist is joined by a cellist to perform pieces structured as written improvisations, alternating between silences and expressive moments.

The Café de la Danse is hosting this performance. This cultural venue offers a varied programme in Paris's eleventh arrondissement. The evening is aimed at lovers of contemporary instrumental music and piano pieces who are attentive to intimate worlds.
