The Saian Supa Crew, formed in the late 90s, marked French hip-hop history with its originality and creativity. Composed initially of six MCs – Sly the Mic Buddah (Sly Johnson), Vicelow, Specta, Leeroy Kesiah, Féniksi and Sir Samuël – the group was born from the fusion of three distinct collectives (Explicit Samurai, OFX and KDD). This diversity of origins forged a unique style, characterized by technical flows, crafted lyrics and innovative vocal polyphony, far from the clichés of rap of the era. Their first album, « KLR  », released in 1999, was a true shock, propelling the group into the spotlight with tracks like « Angela  » and « La Preuve par 3  ».

The Saian Supa Crew distinguished itself through an unpartitioned musical approach, integrating jazz, soul, funk and reggae influences into a solid hip-hop foundation. Their often sophisticated productions, and their varied themes, ranging from social commitment to introspection, proved the richness of their universe. After the success of « KLR  », they continued to explore new sounds with « X Raisons  » (2001) and « Hold-Up  » (2005), consolidating their reputation as an innovative and daring group. The untimely death of Féniksi in 2007 marked a turning point, leading to the band's separation and the development of solo careers for its members.
