Overview
Sofie Royer returns on 4 September with her new album, before/after. On this fourth opus, the Austrian-Iranian pop artist and producer asks whether conflicts between past and future are in fact nothing more than struggles against ourselves.
"The older we get, the more we become aware of certain patterns in our behaviour," she explains. Over the last six years, Sofie has refined her craft of songwriting through three critically acclaimed albums.
Today, she is a pop artist who peppers her lyrics with references to Fassbinder, David Lynch and Falco, and who has collaborated with renowned pop producers for her new album: Matt Cohn (SZA, Charli XCX), Jorgen Odegard (Sabrina Carpenter, BLACKPINK) and Eli Hirsch (Suki Waterhouse).
