Overview
Sofie Royer returns on 4 September with her new album, before/after. In this fourth opus, the Austrian-Iranian pop artist and producer questions whether conflicts between the past and the future are not, in reality, just struggles against ourselves.
“The older you get, the more aware you become of certain patterns in your behaviour,” she explains. Over the past six years, Sofie has refined her art of composition across three critically acclaimed albums.
Today, she is a pop artist who peppers her lyrics with references to Fassbinder, David Lynch, and Falco, and who has collaborated with renowned pop producers for her new album: Matt Cohn (SZA, Charli XCX), Jorgen Odegard (Sabrina Carpenter, BLACKPINK), and Eli Hirsch (Suki Waterhouse).
