Overview
On the occasion of the closing of the exhibition Couloirs irréguliers, SOS MÉDITERRANÉE will be present for a meeting dedicated to its sea rescue missions and the human realities of migratory crossings in the Mediterranean. Volunteers from the association will present their actions and share their commitment to the women, men, and children who attempt the crossing at the peril of their lives. Faced with shipwrecks and situations of distress at sea, their mission is essential: to provide assistance, rescue, and save lives. This meeting will also provide a better understanding of the conditions under which these crossings are made, the dangers faced by exiled people, and the human stakes linked to sea rescue. A time for discussion with the public will allow questions to be asked, to discover the association's work concretely, and to address notions of solidarity, dignity, and civic engagement. In resonance with the works of Couloirs irréguliers, which evoke departure, borders, crossing, waiting, and hope, this evening will extend the exhibition through the words and testimonies of those who act on the ground. Presentation of SOS MÉDITERRANÉE's actions, discussions with the public, and on-site donation collection to support their sea rescue missions.
