The Fairy Queen

Presented by L'ESPACE DES ARTS (1-007693). The Fairy Queen by Henry Purcell in dialogue with A Midsummer Night's Dream. A forest, the night, the time of a night that stretches, allowing tumultuous loves to escape the rigors of Athens law.

In this forest, magical characters weave the threads of a narrative as unusual as it is fabulous for our greatest pleasure. The Fairy Queen is born from the meeting between William Shakespeare's play, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and musician Henry Purcell, who sets it to music.

In this show, theater dialogues with music, bodies with instruments.

Circus artist, dancers, actors, singers and musicians - both classical and jazz - find themselves in this same enchanted forest to tell this bundle of love intrigues where everyone eventually forgets even the person they are in love with.

This show is also a collective and territorial adventure: the sets and costumes are made by high school students - from the d'Alembert high school in Aubervilliers, the Claude Nicolas Ledoux high school in Pavillons-sous-Bois, and the Assumption high school in Bondy.
