The Fairy Queen by Henry Purcell in dialogue with Le Songe d’une nuit d’été.

A forest, at night, over the course of a night that stretches on, allowing tumultuous love affairs to escape the rigours of Athenian law. In this forest, the magical characters weave the threads of a plot as unusual as it is fabulous, to our great delight.

The Fairy Queen is born from the encounter between William Shakespeare's play Le Songe d'une nuit d'été and the musician Henry Purcell, who set it to music. In this production, theatre engages in dialogue with music, and bodies with instruments. Circus artists, dancers, actors, singers and musicians, classical and jazz alike, gather in the same enchanted forest to tell this tangle of amorous intrigues in which each character ends up forgetting even the person they are in love with.

This production is also a collective and local venture: the sets and costumes are made by pupils from the lycée d'Alembert in Aubervilliers, the lycée Claude Nicolas Ledoux in Les Pavillons-sous-Bois, and the lycée de l'Assomption in Bondy.

Their hands built the forest. The dream belongs to them too! Presented by La Fabrique Opéra
