THE LAST HAMLET
ANOTHER HAMLET, WHAT FOR?
TO SEE DUKE AS A PRINCE, BECAUSE IT'S ROYAL! Hamlet, the last… Faced with the plethora of Hamlets staged every year, who doesn't feel a little perplexed? Ben Duke wonders. But as an actor, having trained in theatre before incorporating dance, he would like to tackle the role, provided it's to put an end to it. He embarks on a dialogue between the tormented Prince and himself, who is no less so. Shakespeare serves as a pretext to confide his dilemmas about the act of creating and the necessity of doing so. Aided by his two excellent dancers who evoke all the other characters in the play, he invites the audience to sway with them between comedy (a lot) and tragedy (just enough). The last, really?
