This Is Lorelei's debut album on Matador Records, "The Singer in My Band", draws inspiration from the foundations of the Great American Songbook to reinvent its basics, creating compositions that are both strangely familiar and endearing.
Written during a world tour, "The Singer in My Band" stands as the first true "road album" in Nate Amos's discography. "These ideas matured as I daydreamed in the car, with no instruments at hand," he recalls.
"So, instead of being at home composing on guitar or a computer, they developed slowly and unconsciously, existing as a kind of intangible entity while I looked out the van window.
